In Powder River, Wyoming, Sheriff Marshall is investigating the mysterious murder/suicide an ex-cavalry soldier and his homesteader wife. Meanwhile, Eli waits for Cornelia's return on the Clarkes' farm, but discovers a more sinister side to their business.
