12th August 1989: FA Charity Shield: Liverpool v Arsenal

Match of the Day celebrates its 25th birthday. Back in August 1964, the programme kicked off its life with a League match between Liverpool and Arsenal. It was 3-2 to the Merseysiders that day, but that's no contemporary form guide!
