The battle to win the biggest prize in pop moves a step closer as the show reaches the semi-final. The remaining acts each sing two songs live in a bid to win viewers' votes. Also fighting for the acts they have mentored are judges Simon Cowell, Cheryl Cole, Dannii Minogue and Louis Walsh, while host Dermot O'Leary is on hand to deal with the triumphs and tears.
