Matt is in a bad way as Brad nurses him at the side of the road, waiting for the ambulance. Groggy Matt manages to tell Brad to look after Lauren before lapsing into unconsciousness. Lauren, meanwhile, is catching up with Lucy when Lou arrives to tell her the news. She keeps vigil at the hospital through Matt’s surgery, joined by her family and Brad and Terese.
